Diigo is a great Web 2.0 tool. Diigo is a social bookmarking site that has evolved well past social bookmarking. This tool allows the user to save anything from any computer, smart phone or tablet to an online account that can be saved and brought up anywhere. Diigo also allows the user to make his or her own highlights and notes about certain documents and files, making it useful for research and quick retrieval. With the great ability to organize the things you choose to bookmark, you can easily categorize them into any group you want. Also, in Diigo you can network with anyone of specific interests, or join groups. For everything you save, you can also make tags, making it easier to find later and/or share quickly. With apps for mobile devices, Diigo is setup to retrieve anything at anytime, anywhere, making it a great tool for any topic you desire.
WHY I LOVE
I love Diigo because every time the smallest idea pops into my head I have to check it out on my phone. I am constantly browsing online, researching the latest thought in my mind. I read a lot online as well, which Diigo can help me out with as far as highlighting and sharing with my friends. Right now I am doing a personal study on Calvinism vs. Arminianism in Christianity and Diigo allows me to group things easily and pull things up quickly with the highlights I've made and the tags that I've inserted. Below is a snapshot I was able to take of the homepage of our wiki. Diigo allows you to take snapshots of anything on the web to save as a picture or file, which can be helpful for many different things.

DIVERSE LEARNING IN
Diigo can be used for diverse learning and special needs areas in multiple ways. Perhaps the best help Diigo can offer is the professional development and collaboration among educators for ideas and stategies that they have collected and researched. Sharing through Diigo is super easy and fast, making it simple to swap things back and forth with teachers in your network. Also, Diigo can be used to make web browsing easier for those with special needs. Teachers can group together resources and highlight and make unique notes on web pages that the students can easily go to, accessing all material from Diigo. This would make Diigo a great tool to help students with special needs, learning to browse the web for the first time.
